BLAGOJEVICH: "I'M BLACKER THAN OBAMA"
"What the (expletive)? Everything he's saying's on the teleprompter," Blagojevich told the magazine for a story in its February issue, which hits newsstands Jan. 19.
"I'm blacker than Barack Obama. I shined shoes. I grew up in a five-room apartment. My father had a little laundromat in a black community not far from where we lived," Blagojevich said. "I saw it all growing up."
The White House refused to comment.
PS: Part of the attraction of Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber is their appeal to a segment of the population that feels left out in the currently accepted descriptions of politics and ethnicity. A main reason for this: the failure of liberals to give class as much importance as ethnicity. It's not either/or but class clearly comes in second, third or fourth in liberal rhetoric. Ironically, this works against both the social and political goals of liberals and helps to produce the sort of reaction expressed by Blagojevich. - TPR

Liberals tend to sneer at the lower classes and the less well educated. They're "white trash", "rednecks", etc. And then hipsters wonder "What's the matter with Kansas?" -- as if it's a mystery that working class Middle America ("flyover country") seems opposed to progressive politics. Guess what, dumbfucks, you drove them away.
