Your editor has been a musician for many decades. He started the first band his Quaker school ever had and played drums with bands up until 1980 when he switched to stride piano. He had his own band until the mid-1990s and has played with the New Sunshine Jazz Band, Hill City Jazz Band, Not So Modern Jazz Band and the Phoenix Jazz Band.

I am shocked that the President has time to go to Denmark, and not time to talk to General McChrystal
McChrystal is such a whiner !
If he has any burning questions about the conduct of warfare, he can ring up Mr. Gates over at the Pentagon any old time. That's the fellow Mr. Obama hired to ride herd over clueless Lt. Generals who can't figure out how to lace up their brand- new quagmire boots.
In the meantime, I guess the the safest thing to do would be to keep on burning everything & everyone in sight.

I think they're both playing the plausible deniability game, knowing their colossal failure to deal with the Afghanis' refusal to allow a pipeline without sufficient payment. That's how and why this shit started and that's how it will end, if it ends.
