TOM FRIEDMAN'S WORLD IS FLAT BROKE
David Sirota, Open Left - Tom Friedman has been the most aggressive and well-known spokesman for know-nothingist free trade, job outsourcing and sending blue-collar kids off to die in wars for oil. . . He's spent most of his adult life as a guy who married into a billion-dollar fortune. I say "most of his adult life" because Vanity Fair reports that he's now "only" a $25 millionaire thanks to the real estate bust brought on by the very boom-bust economy Friedman himself championed. Indeed, the company that created the family fortune he married into is on the brink of going bankrupt.

There is a God... Ain't schadenfreude a bitch? Now bring back the depression era 98% confiscatory tax rate on annual earnings above six million, to help reform the flat earth (which Galileo disproved, did he not?), and finish off the rest of this blabber mouths cushion which has provided him with a platform for the elitist delusions he's been spouting since Slick Willie's reign. Is this a fall from grace? Or an act of act grace? I'd say the later... For isn't greed one of the seven deadly sins?

I never knew schadenfreude would be so swift and sweet in Friedman's case. Well, he is now not even a $25 Millionaire. Nobody will buy it even for that sum. This nutcase free market blatherer is broke.

Thanks for connecting the dots. I have reported how GGP has raped my Central Valley home town of Elk Grove, Calif. GGP started a mall and because of their hubris, the mall lies half-finished. GGP owes the city, ie taxpayers, over $325,000 in late fees. Who pays - of course the taxpayer.
